John Hagel has a must read summary of the debate on the economics of the production and consumption of attention.
As centralised repositories of communications patterns, telcos have enormous amounts of information on who is “hot or not”. Being the “accountants of attention” may not be glamorous, but it sure could be rewarding.
PS - His article title is a great pun, if only you think about it.
