BT's blunder

SkypeOut is proving to be totally hopeless this evening with a call quality of approximately zero. (Native Skype calls work OK, so you know who to blame.) Well, I though I might sign up with BT’s VoIP service. Looks like I’m out of luck:

Seems that only people who live in homes with a name AND number are allowed to sign up.

Does anyone ever test these systems before springing them on the paying customer?

UPDATE: Ummm….

To be fair, the time you tried to SkypeOut to my US Cell number I was at work on a client site that is built like a Faraday cage.
I have found SkypeOut to be very variable ... sometimes I can have hour long conference calls that sound prefectly fine, other times it's like trying to whisper to someone trapped down a deep well during a storm. PC to PC is still brilliant, though sometimes I prefer the video option on MSN. Both are in a far superior league to AIM which my US colleagues seem strangely reluctant to move away from despite being dire.

I would be very keen to have any feedback on what we do that makes it harder for our customers to do business with us. Anything at all that we can do to make it easier and more pleasant is the aim.
Would you mind sending such feedback directly to me?
I am CIO at BT.
