Why Britain needs bigger pipes

I agree.

We can’t afford to all stop work for five or ten minutes every time we want to share a Powerpoint deck.

Bigger pipes are nice indeed, but building them takes time. But you could drop PowerPoint in favour of OpenOffice.org, and get more bandwidth immediately: OpenDocument files are usually much smaller than their counterparts in MS Office formats.

I agree too.

We may disagreee about how to get there, but a great Internet for nearly everyone is a good goal to start with.

Especially when I run the numbers and they aren't so bad.
