My mother asks:

Just a quick email. I have a friend who used to work in [REDACTED] (now living in Spain) who has set up a Facebook profile with pictures, videos and events and wants to add me as a friend - I’ve heard all sorts of funny things about Facebook, so should I go into her link?

OK, now it’s personal. How do I balance the need of my mother to stay in touch with former colleagues, with the fact that Facebook is a serial privacy violator?
